This is an illustration of the cross section of the Star of David, a very thick and large variety of okra. Compared to the star-shaped cross section of the common pentagonal okra, this cross section has many spikes, giving it a weighty, David-like appearance rather than the slender feel of okra. However, it does not have a six-pointed star like the common Star of David on the Israeli flag, but rather is often a star-shaped shape with more spikes.
