"Plant-Image" is a free illustration material collection run by an individual. On this site, we create illustrations centered around plants. We focus mainly on mushrooms, along with various plants, including vegetables, although they are slightly outside the realm of plants. We aim to be of help to anyone looking for illustration materials related to plants, whether you are a plant lover or someone involved with plants, so please enjoy our collection.
Background of website operation
Free illustration material site
Before the launch of this site, the administrator himself had been using illustration free material sites for creating materials, making POPs, and decorating events, and had deeply felt the convenience and usefulness of such sites. Additionally, when reaching illustration sites and looking at illustrations that weren't necessarily for a specific purpose, new ideas and expressions would often come to mind. There was a certain enjoyment in being able to continuously view various illustrations. From this, my interest in illustration sites expanded, which likely became the first step towards launching this site.
Illustration focusing on plants
The focus on plants began from my interest in vegetables and fruits. When you are familiar with the shapes and forms of vegetables and fruits that you usually see in stores, you might be surprised by the totally unexpected appearances of vegetables and fruits even in neighboring towns, let alone countries overseas. Some vegetables and fruits I encountered were ones I had never seen before, and even for those I knew by the same name, like 'satoimo' and 'zuiki', they were in forms I was not used to eating. Additionally, there can be plants that look almost identical but are entirely different toxic plants. Each time I researched or learned about the many different types of plants, their various parts and their appearances at different times, conditions, and situations, my interest in plants grew even stronger. To expand my imagination from there, I started sketching them as illustrations, which further enhanced my interest in plants and became a stepping stone to another opportunity.
By this background, our site 'Plant Image' became a free material site for plant illustrations.
